Bracket clocks or Table clocks have been around since c.1660. The title Bracket Clock covers a wide range of spring driven short pendulum clocks. The earliest clocks used a verge escapement later clocks used the anchor escapement and could be a timepiece, hour striking, quarter chiming, musical, pull quarter repeating, automata or other rarer variations. Right through to the late 19th century they were always made to the highest quality.
