Marquetry Longcase Clocks

Marquetry longcase clock cases were produced from about 1680 to 1730. Typically walnut was the main veneer used, together with numerous other woods such as Ebony, Sycamore and fruitwoods. Earlier longcase clocks tended to have ‘panel marquetry’ where as later clock cases featured all over, much finer marquetry.
