A fine quality, striking bracket clock by James Norman of Poole.
The 8 day, twin fusee movement strikes the hours on a bell, with pull repeat and original verge escapement. The movement back-plate is profusely decorated with floral engraving and signed on a circular silvered cartouche.
The chapter ring and spandrel dial features silvered, engraved centres with scenes of a figure fishing from the quay, sweep center calendar, mock pendulum and strike/silent to the arch. Original blued steel hands and brass calendar hand.
The ebonised case is of smaller than standard proportions and features a brass bound base, brass feet, handle, and pineapple finials, pierced fret work to the sides and a glazed rear door.
